The Harmony Four, a gospel quartet from Belle, West Virginia, is composed of two husband and wife Teams -- Ron and Lill Miller and Allen and Pat Smith. Both couples are active members of the Belle Church of Christ where Ron and Allen serve as 2 of the 3 elders.

The quartet began singing together in 1975. Ron, the bass singer, is a retired Applications Support Manager for the Bureau of Employment Programs, for the State of West Virginia and Lill, the alto, is a secretary/receptionist for Walker Machinery. Allen, who sings tenor, is a retired schoolteacher and his wife Pat, the soprano, is secretary for the Belle church.

For ten years the quartet traveled throughout the country telling the gospel story in song. During this time they recorded eight albums and tapes, several of which are still available. The group had to disband in l985 due to Allen's throat problem.

In August, l996, after much discussion and several practice sessions, the group decided it was time to try again, but this time on a very limited schedule. Let's be realistic--twelve years does make a difference!

The lives of both families have been closely intertwined for over 25 years because of our church work and singing. And we live across the street from each other.

Allen and Pat’s daughter, Lynn married Randy Bell. They have 2 girls, Jessi and Adri and live in Charlottesville, VA. Their son, Wes and wife, Mylissa have a son, Josh and a daughter, Mackenzie. Wes is a deacon with the Belle congregation.

Ron and Lill’s son, Robbie and wife, Sarah reside in Belle. Their daughter, also lives in Belle. All are members of the Church of Christ.

Wes, Robbie and Maria along with Wes’ cousin, Jennifer Basford once sang in an a cappella quartet -- The Next Generation.
